Can we get rid of the most useless, pointless, irrelevant feature of a mobile phone? "calling". mobile phones (no one still alive can misunderstand my reference of a phone to fixed line) have evolved over time from a device used to call to a camera, to an app holder, calendar, calculator, compass etc.
That silly little slot used to hold a SIM card should be replaced with a slot to hold SD card, basically a SIM supports calling and SMS (yes, the one we used recently to get an one time password to login to a so called secured website)
as far as my memory goes, a mobile phone has evolved from
one with a smaller antenna, one with out
lighter
smaller
softer keys
durable
louder ring tone / more ring tones
MMS feature
blue screen / colour screen
more games
flip / slide / fold (that nokia communicator!!)
QWERTY keyboard
Bigger screen
Bigger screen by removing the keyboard
Bigger screen by making it frameless
Phones bigger than your laptop (all screen)
So now we have a very powerful camera with a brilliant screen which can hold apps. (Nothing changed for call and sms function). No one talks about call rates, sms rates, it’s just data that’s more important. So why not just remove the function, may be technically it will help to increase the size of the screen (ever fond of), camera which captures the movements of your brain cells in selfie mode !!
